Become a driver of a passenger vehicle for commercial use in ACT
Eligibility Requirements
To become a driver of a passenger vehicle for chauffeur driven hire in the ACT there are some essential requirements:
- You will need to be at least 20 years of age
- Driver’s Licence: You need a full ACT driver’s licence with a ‘H’ condition.
- Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration Complete the WWVP registration form available through Access Canberra. Visit a local Access Canberra Service Centre or apply online to verify your identity and pay the required registration fee during your application process. Within this process, you will also need to undergo a criminal history check as a mandatory step for registration with Access Canberra.
- Vehicle Registration: Full vehicle registration is mandatory. Please ensure you upload the required documents to the website.
- Compulsory Third Party Insurance (CTP) The vehicle must be covered by a valid insurance policy for third party property damage with cover of at least $5 million. Evidence of this will need to be uploaded to our site.

Signage
Upon approval of your profile by Dream Rides, you will be posted a Dream Rides sign. This needs to be displayed on or near the front of the passenger side of your vehicle and clearly visible from the outside of the vehicle when completing a booking.
